I completely agree with these two comments.

No matter your motivation and stamina, without support from those above you'll 
likely be spinning your wheels.

With a slightly different angle, changing the way people have always done 
things is a monumental task.

I'm personally in a very similar situation as you, Ben.

I can only do what I can do and have been sticking to my guns.

Lead by example.

I also completely agree with the Visible Ops shout-out.

If anything, Visible Ops will help you to get a grip on the craziness and start 
to move forward.
