http://www.everythingsysadmin.com/hostdb will generate the DNS zone
files using /etc/host-like files (it also generates DHCP configs for
you).  It doesn't do updates via nsupdate, but you could make it do
that pretty easily as the update portion is external to the generation
stuff.  It doesn't just support RCS, it was designed with it in mind.

It must be good because otherwise Usenix wouldn't possibly have let me
use the title "HostDB: The Best Damn host2DNS/DHCP Script Ever
