All, hope things are well; I am in a situation were I need to find a
solution to the following issue:

1. SLES virtual Server [VMWare virtual machine] running on a highly
available VMware infrastructure;
2. Legacy software on this Server requires USB Dongle to function
3. Must be highly available.

so you understand that there is plenty of HA at the VMware back end
(multiple chiassis and blades); However, how do I deal with this one
off SLES Linux box that needs a USB dongle attached to it? I can hook
up the Dongle to the usb port of the ESX host blade that the VM runs
on but what is there is a HA event and the machine fails to another
ESX host on a different blade?

I was thinking some kind of USB over IP solution should do the trick
but if you have any other ideas I am definetely open.

also if you have any recommendations for USB over IP that work well
with Linux please let me know

best
