I have to ask: Why not move "up" the stack and do SaaS instead of IaaS?
If you're really only planning on Wordpress, why not just do the commercial Wordpress service at Wordpress.com itself? They will handle everything up to and including your custom plug-ins (if needed). CNN, NFL, and Time all use Wordpress's commercial hosting for their blogs. Or you could go with HostGator or BlueHost, both of which appear to have a lot of Wordpress knowledge.
