What I ended up using in a prior position where I managed a number of network
closets (and designed layout for a few new ones ) was a mixture of angled patch
panels, wide vertical management (wider is better if you have space), a mix of
cable lengths to minimize excess slack, and minimal horizontal management.
Chatsworth makes a number of vertical managers that have fingers spaced every
1U. In combination with angled panels this makes it very easy to keep that end
of the cable easily managed. On the other end I'd then bring half the cables
for each switch in from each side. (I'd bundle them with a velcro tie wrap.)
The vertical managers would provide space to take up the extra slack, although
I'd try to minimize it by having a mixture of cable lengths. I'd put a small
number of 2U horizontal managers throughout the rack to allow easily crossing
cables that came out of the patch panel on one side, but plugged into the other
side of the switch. (In multi rack closets this also
 allowed
a path to bring cables from the outside across the rack to another rack.)

Chatsworth and Middle Atlantic have a myriad of cabling solutions, some
of which I've seen, a couple of which I've used, and many of which I
have no idea how they work. It's far too many to understand by
attempting to browse their product line. This is one of those cases
where talking to a sales rep is beneficial just because of the immense
depth of the product line. You need somebody to help you navigate the
sea of part numbers and specialized items. In particular, the chatsworth
2 post stuff plus side channels is very nice for traditional dense
patching, plus the Siemon flatmax or anglemax modular patch panels with
snap in jacks. (I prefer anglemax, but there are cases for both)
