The only assertions from your previous email we haven't examined were (1) that you use OSX, (2) btrfs disallows filenames "." and "..". As far as (2) is concerned, I haven't used btrfs, but I find it difficult to believe those wouldn't be permitted. So please enlighten us. How does "cd .." work on btrfs?
