"I disbelieve X" is also reverse psychology for "You look it up and post your findings here." ;-) And I'm glad I did (and glad you did), because I don't use any linux dhcp clients, and I surely wouldn't have found that by any means other than google. Even when you posted "man 8 dhclient-script" I still only got "No entry in the manual" so I was *still* not going to find it with that excellent clue. And when I googled for it and finally got the manual, it was tldr; and searching it for "env" or "var" also lead astray, because neither is mentioned in the relevant section of the manpage. So once again, I was not going to find it.
