Why not? (a) If they have customers who want to buy that, then it's great
that they're offering those customers what they want; (b) if you as a
customer don't want to buy that, they have lots of other things you can buy.

Now, if it was basic electrical power, maybe that would be true. The power
company certainly shouldn't be offering you a discount on your electric
bill, with the caveat that they can turn off your power whenever other
higher-paying customers need more. Right?

As it turns out, they do, because this is a perfectly suitable model for
some customers. If it's not what you want, don't buy that.
