Francis:  We keep our CFEngine policies in a version control system.  It's
great to have your policy under revision control anyway to get history (who
changed what when why), ability to go back to or compare with earlier
versions, etc.  All the usual benefits of version control.  :)  Policy
propagates from version control repository to production (this gives you a
chance to QA it as well).  And it is applied to the managed hosts in
production.
