Well, "yes and no". It's the "equivalent" product in that they're both serving roughly the same need, but they're not really "the same". I think the difference is that VMWare Workstation for (Linux,Windows) probably share a whole bunch of common code behind the scenes, and Fusion does not. I'm basing this solely on the fact that I recall "Workstation" releases for Linux/Windows tending to come out at roughly the same schedule whereas Fusion appears to be on its own completely different development schedule.
