I'm very happy with http://www.EventBrite.com/ (previously called http://www.mollyguard.com), which can handle simple class registration and such. The last time I used it it didn't handle bar codes and invitations. However that might be added by now.
Years ago I used http://123signup.com/ and found it worked well. It was designed to handle huge, huge, huge conferences. You might contact them to see if it has the features you need.
