I have not worked on our R905 at all here but the last time I had any
issue with memory in one of our Dell servers was when they sent us all
dual ranked memory and the server could only handle a total of 12 (from
memory) ranks total. We had to use a pair of dual ranked dims and fill
the rest of the slots with single ranked dims. I would check that
first.

I'm assuming you have asked Crucial for replacement dims in case you
managed to find a bad one? I would install individual pairs and see if
I can get any to work.
