I withdraw the question... upon further consideration, I realized that the VM Host is doing the MPIO and presenting one device to the VM Guest. If one tries to assign multiple virtual devices to that same phy disk, it would amount to multipathing and how can a guest know the I/O of other guests in order to balance properly? It can't.
