Hi! As I wrote in my original bug-report, the troublesome laptop (Acer TravelMate 430) is currently out of my reach and is running the OS it had been originally sold with. Nonetheless, I will meet its owner within a couple of days or so and hope I will be able to test the patched system from a USB flashdisk installation. I will let you know then.
