Hello!

Could someone please help me with the following.

I am trying to dump memory to other then the default dump device of the GENERIC kernel. Is it possible to change the default dump device either in the UKC or by running "config -e" on the kernel image or in another similar way? I haven't found such a possibility in the documentation. Is a custom kernel the only option?

The "-a" option at the boot prompt leads to the swap/dump device being set at the end of the kernel's boot process, which is often too late in many cases, as the kernel has crashed already by that moment. So, the "-a" parameter cannot help with what I am trying to solve.

Thanks.

Regards,
David
