Don't know if it makes some sense...
I thought it's more informative to say 'rip' instead of 'route' in netstat and
others. afaiu 'route' is there for historical reason, that was the name of the
first rip daemon. 'rip' represents the name of the protocol itself, without
regard to implementation name.
