I agree the three choises are not clear enough but i think also yes|no|
poisoned is not the better wording we can choose. In fact if i read
"split-horizon yes" it is not immediately clear that it is simple split
horizon with no poisoned reverse.
Instead we committed a diff that changes them into: none, simple,
poisoned.

You are right. Now the default behaviour is poisoned.
