Another thing I forgot to say: all this is highly experimental for now.
I've committed the  various pieces so that people concerned (that's a
few porters that manage build clusters) can play with it, work on it,
give me feedback.

All of this may  change. Heck, if it doesn't pan out, it might even
get scratched.

This is more of a heads-up to let you know in greater detail what is
going on.
