I may also have found a gcc bug in the process. When I build with:

> env CC=clang CFLAGS=' -fwrapv ' make

it aborts on overflow, as expected. However,

> env CFLAGS=' -fwrapv ' make

overflows withough complaint.

Am I missing something?
