With that the rotated acct is called acct.bak. This is not nice. You fiddle with rotating at two places now. Is is guaranteed that daily and newsyslog are in sync and that you don't loose a file? As we are creating a daily summay, it is easier to do everything here. Perhaps I would think different if newsyslog could do all the features needed by accouting. bluhm
