You should see changes occuring on this line: media: IEEE802.11 autoselect (OFDM6 mode 11g) This should switch to something between (DS1 mode 11g) and (OFDM54 mode 11g) depending on throughput. And on the following line, the dBm value at the end should be changing depending on your laptop's position relative to the AP: ieee80211: nwid foo chan 10 bssid xx:xx:xx::xx:xx:xx -39dBm
