FWIW, I have an implementation of a jobserver for make(1) that uses pshared semaphores that I intend to submit if this goes through (my initial attempts used sockets, but that was tricky to get right). But yes, there isn't a lot of software that uses them. -- Lauri Tirkkonen | lotheac @ IRCnet
