Hello, and thanks for your time. This is an official request for
Lubuntu 26.04 to be qualified to be a long-term support (LTS) release,
as per the requirements at [1].

Going through the points listed in the references documentation:

* Ubuntu 26.04 is intended to be an LTS release. Lubuntu's request for
26.04 to be made an LTS release therefore aligns with Ubuntu's LTS
  release cycle.
* Lubuntu has participated successfully in many consecutive LTS and
non-LTS releases, and we have the manpower to maintain a 26.04 LTS.
We are in need of more developers, but have an existing contributor
we are working on training to work on development.
* Similar to previous cycles, Lubuntu intends to offer software support
in the form of SRUs for serious bugs and security issues that the
Lubuntu team becomes aware of and can reasonably fix after the release
of Lubuntu 26.04. We will also be participating in the LTS point
releases, as all other flavors do. Beyond that, we also offer
technical support on a best-effort basis via the Lubuntu section of
Ubuntu's Discourse instance, and through the Lubuntu Support chatroom
on Matrix (#lubuntu-support:ubuntu.com). We also maintain an official
manual for the Lubuntu operating system at [2].
* The above support plan is public, as it has been posted on a public
mailing list. The ongoing support contacts at the moment are Thomas
Ward ([email protected], @teward:ubuntu.com) as the primary contact,
and myself ([email protected], @arraybolt3:ubuntu.com) as the
secondary contact. Both of us are generally highly responsive and
easy to reach. Further contacts can be reached via our development
  Matrix room at #lubuntu-devel:ubuntu.com.
* Our key upstream packages are primarily the entire LXQt stack, the
labwc display server, Qt, Kvantum (for theming), and the Calamares
  installer.
* We do not yet have a written confirmation from IS that space and
resources are available to retain images in the archive through the
LTS life cycle. Historically, this hasn't been a problem, so I do not
expect it will be difficult for the TB or relevant teams to obtain
  this confirmation.

For the Lubuntu Council,
