Hi!
I'm reading about the Radio data system
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Data_System> and I have a question,
has any manufacturer of radio ever made a set which can read this data
and speak it through synthesised or static speech?
I'm only interested in the RDS because my most recent purchase of a
Sangean tabletop clock radio uses the RDS to set the time automatically,
pressing a button on the front displays traffic information, pressing it
again displays Station Id and so it goes on.
RDS works on the FM band and - according to the article - is widely used
in the U.K. and North America, not sure how wide the use of the RDS is
in Australia but I do know that several stations here must use it or
else the clock of the radio wouldn't set itself <smile>.
