Hi!

I'd be interested in comments from others to this post.

I had been using Tune-Up Utilities with my Windows systems but have had to stop using the software, its become virtually inaccessible now so I've reverted to my next favourite utility which is CCleaner available at <http://www.ccleaner.com>, I use the professional version which is available for around $25.00.

We all know that Cookies can pose a risk and we know that discarded files on a hard drive can take up a lot of space.

CCleaner - amongst other things - can rid you of these unwanted files along with history of Internet sessions and the like, what CCleaner rids your system of is totally configurable.

You can also set CCleaner to "Clean" your system every time your computer starts thus you can have all those redundant files moved off into space for you automatically when your computer boots.

I'm using this mode for CCleaner right now and I've not notice my computer doing anything it shouldn't though the only thing I have noticed is that I'm not automatically logged onto web sites like I used to be, I assume this is because of the deletion of cookies.

I do have 1 Password on my system so its a simple matter of pressing a hotkey combination to log into my favourite sites again so no harm done <smile>.

CCleaner has a Registry repair tool which seems to be affective and you can "Backup" the registry before you start the repair.

Other nice features include an "Uninstall" option which allows you to rid yourself of those unwanted programmes if the "Add Remove Programmes" won't remove them for you.
