Ah yes. That brings back a few memories. The Votrax I
used in the eighties on the Apple II actually had what I have
heard referred to as an Easter Egg. That's some software feature
that is uncovered only under special circumstances. In this
case, if you sent the word "shit," it would say "sugar." When
you sent another Anglo-Saxon expletive, it said "fudge."
All you had to do was maybe add an extra s to get it not
to say "Sugar" or maybe place a ph instead of the F to get it in
the true spirit of things.
I was probably around 32 when I was doing this
scientific research. After all, I work for an academic
institution and I guess you could call it lenguistic research.
