Hi Martin
To be honest this is kind of not unexpected. I have already warned her that it may be an impossible feat. She's kind of like Apple, doesn't want her competitors knowing what she's doing and she's kind of placed me in a position of trust as I have her material here and will be producing the DVDs for her. It's audio and video and she didn't want it distributed. Even as it stands, I'm going to have to use dual-layer DVDs for the project. But it looks like she's out of luck regarding protection. DVD's and BlueRay disks are already equipped with copy protection keys as this is an issue in the gaming world. The first thing I encountered when looking up this topic is a list of decryption software, a lot of it free, that people can use to "make backups." The system is called CSS, not to be confused with cascading style sheets in web brousing. You might find some application to thwart the casual weekend warier computer user, but a determined hacker can usually crack the system if they want to badly enough. Also, a number of these copy-protection systems tend to bite innocent users later by failing in certain drives or under certain conditions. If you can play it, somebody can probably crack it.
