You're absolutely correct on that Gordon. You'll need to keep the dongle in while using Jaw or it will revert to the demo state.

As I'm not sure exactly what you'll be doing with Jaws and various computers, you could always get a two bay usb splitter and have a thumb drive version of Jaws on one port and the dongle on the other making for a completely portable solution. I don't know if you'll need that type of portability though.

Hi Chris

Thanks a bunch. I just didn't want to install the wrong version as I see there's one marked "Thumb Drive". But I guess that's probably for installing on to a thumb drive, not one which needs a thumb drive dongle.

Thanks again. I'll set about this tomorrow. Lynne is exhausted so I am going to stop playing now.

Gordon,

If the dongle is authorised to work with version 13 of JAWS, then yes. Just plug it in, fire up JAWS and you are good to go.

Hello everybody

OK, I am now in temporary possession of a dongle which will, I hope, allow me to use Jaws indefinitely throughout the period of three weeks for which I have the dongle.

But here's my question, and I want to get it right first time. I've been told that, if I download the demo of Jaws, install it and then plug in the dongle, the demo will turn into a licensed copy of Jaws 13. Is that correct? This is just the first of I'm sure many questions asked by somebody who hasn't seriously touched Jaws in over 10 years.

Thanks for your patience and tolerance.

Gordon
