Hi all Some time ago I mentioned that we had bought a Fritz!Box router for use as a network storage medium and also as a telephony PBX.
So far, I am sorry to say, in the role of PBX, the router has failed dismally for a couple of reasons. Firstly, when we attach the router to our fixed line, there is so much white noise on the signal that it's utterly unusable. Also, from time to time the router seems to drop the line and incoming calls are simply not detected. The caller gets the ring tone but the telephone here does not ring. Now, it has to be said that I'm not using the router's internal modem. Instead, we have it set up as a client hub on our network. This method is documented as a legitimate usage. So far, despite our E-Mail to their support people, we have not received a response from them regarding a means of troubleshooting and a fix. his is probably unusual as we did not use their web form to request support. But that method is failing ach time we try. More later.
