Hi all

On Monday morning I take delivery of one of these electronic readers. Would
anybody be interested in a blog-based, and also an audio review of the product,
giving demonstrations of how it works with various document types I know that
this isn’t exactly new technology. Well, the firmware is, but the hardware has
been around for a while. But it still has technical specifications that are
above those in use today in main stream technologies. For instance, it has and
always has had two 5 mega-pixel cameras which scan your document in very high
resolution. The Eye-Pal is one of those boxes which come in various designs.
For instance, the Eye-Pal Ace has a built-in magnifier and screen to enlarge
text by up to 10 times its normal size. That model incorporates speech-guided
technology, just as the ROL does. The ROL does not have the magnification
elements, which suits me fine as I have no use for a magnifier.

The ROL also has a built-in planner, (for some reason), so that you can
schedule appointments and be alerted when they occur. I’m not sure what the
speech is like yet, but I’ll find out on Monday when it arrives. If anybody
would like to hear my review, or read it and see pictures of the unit, please
let me know. Let me know also which format would be best for you, audio or
written.

Kind regards
