Hi Chris

Firstly, you did right to post this in this group. It’s not really appropriate
for Mac Access, although at present we’re not talking about the virtual machine
itself.

Windows 7 and 8 probably won’t work under Fusion 5 because it doesn’t support
the AFI technologies which Microsoft now uses. Essentially, they are handling
EFI in software, emulating the way that Apple does it in hardware. That’s
because millions of computer systems are still stuck in the mid 70s and still
use the old BIOS technologies. Anyway, I should perhaps qualify what I’m
saying. I think some have managed to get Windows 7 to work, as long as they
don’t update to Windows 7 SP1. Above and beyond that, I think you’ll struggle,
to be honest. I would also recommend that the upgrade to Fusion 6 would be a
very worthwhile investment. I use it all the time now at work, and it saves me
so much hassle. I no longer need to carry two or even three laptops around
with me.

Kindest regards

Hi all
I'm trying to help a friend off list to import his bootcamp into Vmware, he
thinks the instructions I posted over at
www.applevis.com
are for Fusion 5x, do these also work in 6x?
Sorry if this is the wrong list but better be safe than sorry and post here
rather than a mac specific or Windows specific list.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!
