I’m not an expert on this subject - we do have a mobile engineer on list and 
Iaen would be better qualified to express an opinion in this discussion than I 
- but my understanding was that all the 2G across Australia in the coming years 
was to be discontinued given that very few phones on the network - be it in 
regional or city areas - still use it.

In any case, is it really an issue as so few of us have 2G phones now it seems.
