Hello,

While appreciating this is not current or the latest technology, I'm hoping
that someone may be able to make a useful suggestion.

I've recently been given a ScannaR stand-alone reading machine.
Unfortunately, it main purpose of scanning text and automatically reading it
isn't working and I'm wondering whether this is a software or hardware
issue.

As far as I can tell, the other functions look to be working as expected but
not the actual scanning operation.

I'm told the light is working on the scannaR and it seems to make the right
kind os sounds I would expect a scanner to make.

Having contacted Humanware this morning they don't seem able to offer
anything.

The equipment seems to date back to 200 or 2004. I know there were a few
models of this piece of equipment but I don't know which it is. It does have
a USB connection on the back and mention is made of Windows 2000
Professional software being used.

I do accept that the conclusion may well be that there is nothing that can
be done, however, I wanted to explore options before arriving at that point.

Best wishes,

Roger.
