Hi!!

Occasionally the question referring to fast charging a Samsung Galaxy S6 away from home comes up here and by away from home I mean in a car or having access to a 12 volt DC source from a battery or similar.

I found a Qualcom 2.0 Adaptive Charge compatible car charging adapter on eBay for $26 Australian including shipping so thought I'd give it a go.

The Qualcom Adaptive Charge 2.0 standard is one of two different fast charging standards supported by the Samsung Galaxy S6 and other devices.

For those who are wondering what the big deal about Fast Charging is? Well yeah, it is a big deal considering you can have the battery half full of juice in half an hour and completely charged ready for the days work in just over an hour.

Of course this can only be achieved if the screen of the phone is turned off - in lock mode - so whilst the phone is being used the phone charges in the standard charging mode.
