Sangean keep blazing away when it comes to DAB radio sets.
The DPR26BT has been with us for a little while, Up until now I've only seen the set referenced in catalogues and on eBay and haven't had a chance to explore.
The DPR26BT portable DAB/DAB+FM radio receiver looks very similar to the older DPR25 but there are quite a few feature additions and various improvements in the quality and design of this model.
The first feature addition is the internal carry handle found on the top, the DPR25 lacked a carry handle but it did have a grip at the top of the radio, the practical carry handle replaces that grip on the later model.
The DPR26BT now supports Bluetooth so as well as being able to listen to Digital Radio and FM broadcasts you can stream your bluetooth compatible device to the Radio.
The audio of the radio has been significantly improved over the older model, speakers sound reasonably crisp and bass is very good, it can't compete with the big boys but for a portable all rounder the DPR26BT gives it all and that's even more amazing when you consider the two 2.5 inch speaker drivers this radio uses.
Like most Sangean radios the DPR26BT is simple to operate, just 5 preset buttons - 5 presets per band -, a band select button, auto tune button, info and power buttons along with the now familiar select jog dial on the right hand side.
The left hand side is given over to various connections which include line-in/out jacks, headphones and external power adapter socket.
The DPR26BT supports either alkaline or rechargeable batteries, the latter can be charged within the radio.
