Hello everybody This should be quite exciting for me. I am now in the process of preparing a head-to-head review of the Amanon Echo, Amazon Echo Dot and the Google Home. I gave into the temptation earlier today and ordered myself a Google device. One can only hope that the price makes the shing worthwhile. Anyway, as far was possible without any smart things that they can switch on and offf, I shall try to make my artile as rist in detail and descriptive with a good narrative and practical audio and, if I can find a good way of doing it, maybe even video footage.
Not that there's really much to see with the Echo. Yes there are lights which activate when you speak to Alexa, herll face beams at you. But other than that, no, it's primarily an audio experience so if I do video it would only be of yours truly sitting in his chair directing operations and chastising Alexa and maybe Google whereever necessary. Yes, I know, of course, that users of MacOS Sierra will find the concept of Google searching nothing particularly new. Nor will users of iOS and Android if it comes to that, But there is something oddly satisfying about being able to command a machine to do someying using just your voice, no keyboars or mice anywhere close by. We all know how useful Google is. It is my understanding at present that the Google Home is capable of interacting with not only your Google account, but also your Android devices. if true, Then I really could be in for a bit of fun and games! But we will seou No point me reviewing a device which I haven't learned to use yet. Without wishing to brag, I learn quickly and I'd say now that I know just about everything there is to know again the AmazonEcho. So i've already gog much of that review done. I will start learning properly before I create my review of the Google Home. And no, I'm not one of those people who only points out what's good about something. I'll also talk about the down sides and, certainly regarding the Echo devices, there are quite a few failings. One must give the creatort ablind the crowit for developing a device which can not only talk to you, but listen to you and correctly recognise whay you're saying even with a strong regional accet. So hopefully, the software designers say that they're always develoming their product. And certainly, the ability to ask Jamie Oliva for a repipe for a meal is quite a skill. That is definitely possible from the echo. Anyway, More in my reviews. I'll get things back on line in time to host them properly. ============================== My Compliments And Kindest Regards Gordon Smith 'Accessibility And Information Technology Support Specialist ------------------------------
