Good evening everybody You will probably recall that Dane has mentioned this radio on several occasions on list. His comments caught my interest, because I was looking for an upgrade to my now antiquated bedside radio system. Last week, I took the decision to buy one of these radios, after doing some exhaustive research on line. The hardware duly arrived, and I started to learn how it all works. This multimedia centre, which is more like an accurate description than just calling it a "radio", has given me some extremely interesting possibilities. Firstly, the tuner is switchable between DAB and FM, (here in the UK".
When I first started trying to configure and centre, I became a little frustrated bc the app kept crashing on my Touch. So, last night I installed the Android version on to my Android phone, and had immediate success. Once I had access to it, the configuration was very very easy. I managed to finally get all radio services tuned this morning. The quality of the audio output is quite breathtaking. Even on FM, it more than matches the output I got from my old micro-system. But switching to digital radio left me speechless for a little while. The quality is astounding. A lovely balance between high and lower frequencies, giving a lovely sure hi-hi-like sound. The centre has other important advantages. It has full multimedia functionality, including 2 line-level and digital audio inputs and one anklogue and digital optical output, plus a Tosslink output. As I write, I'm listening to my Amazon Echo Dot reading an audiobook via the centre. It is beautiful quality. The centre has no touch screen, and very well laid-out control to sole, plus a well designed remote control unit. More later, but this is a wonderful device. ============================== My Compliments And Kindest Regards Gordon Smith 'Accessibility And Information Technology Support Specialist ------------------------------
