Hello everybody Great News! I finally got around to upgrading our server software yesterday evening. I’m happy to report that the server is now once again scanning all inbound and outbound mail for viruses, Trojans, Worms, Malware etc.. This may not seem like a big deal to most users. Indeed, the responsible member of these groups will have their own security mechanisms in place. And that, where it happens, is to be applauded. Those who don’t take security seriously are fools to themselves and those with whom they communicate, directly and otherwise.
Anyway, there we are. There is another upgrade which I want to apply which takes this one step further. It also improves the spam positive detection which, despite my best efforts, is still not perfect. I shall stay on top of this issue though and hope to be able to train the server as we go along. Unfortunately, in this age of malicious groups and individuals intent on identity theft, financial stealth and other fraudulent habit, every responsible service provider, (and I include myself amongst that group), should do everything in their power to help users of groups which they administrate to stay safe whilst participating in those groups. Rest assured that Mac Access is one of those organisations which goes the extra mile and takes security and integrity extremely seriously. Should you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact me privately, off list, at [email protected] or via my private address and I shall do whatever I can to address them for you. Likewise, if you have general comment regarding Mac Access’s approaches to any issue, please feel free to contact me as above. Thank you for your time. ======================================== My compliments and kindest regards Gordon Smith: <[email protected]> Accessibility & Information Technology Support Specialist.
