Hi!
I received the Belkin Wemo starter kit - two Wemo Smart Bulbs and the
Wi-Fi adapter - this morning.
I've set up one Bulb for the moment.
Thankfully the light fitting was the standard one used in Australia so
there was no problem fitting the Bulb though the problem now is that I
have to try and locate each and every bolb in the house <smile>, will
keep me busy for sure.
Setup is simple enough: connect the Wi-Fi adapter to a power outlet,
connect to the Adapter's wi-Fi network with your phone and run the Wemo App.
You're first prompted to connect the Adapter to your home network.
After a successful connection the App starts looking for Bulbs Make sure
that your light switch controlling the light fitting to which your Bulb
is connected is turned on.
You're notified if a Bulb is found and you can get straight to work.
The first obvious thing I did was to rename the Bulb, Wemo names the
Bulbs in order such as Bulb 01 for the first and so on, the Bulb I have
setup is in the den so I renamed the Bulb "Dane Den" to distinguish it
from other Bulbs I'll add to the list as time goes on.
There are various tabs at the bottom of the Wemo App screen including a
"Rules" tab for making schedules for your Bulbs and so on.
On the main screen you'll find a list of your Bulbs and simple buttons
to turn the power on and off, the status of the button changes when you
toggle so you knoe exactly what's going on.
I'm off to find the old light Bulb in the kitchen and replace with the
other Wemo Smart Bulb I hav, will keep the list updated on anything else
I found regarding Wemo Bulbs and the App
And o yes, I haven't forgotten to enable the Amazon Echo Wemo skill to
control my Bulbs so I'll do that later on once I'm sure I have all my
Bulbs working.
