Hi Dane

Which Focus 40 are you running? If it’s the latest generation then you should
be able to integrate it into an ElBraille.

Thanks for keeping us informed.

I’m not sure whether I myself will bother going down the Braillenote Touch path
given that the Elbraille will be available very soon, added to this is the fact
that I already have a 40 cell Focus Braille display so I’m wondering if perhaps
the Elbraille might be available as a separate unit ready to integrate with the
Focus? We’ll all find out soon enough I guess.

One question about the Elbraille that does bother me however is the lack of a
display.

I can understand not wanting a display on the unit itself but I don’t think the
Elbraille even has capacity for a connection to a display/monitor.

If this is the case then what on earth can be done if there is a problem say
with starting the device that needs sighted assistance to troubleshoot?

Good Tuesday to you one and all

I personally am delighted about this, as it resolves some very major flaws in
their previous operating system, and adds some significant enhancements to
KeySoft.

First and foremost, HumanWarde has now seen the light, and updated their
Android framework to allow the update to Android 7.0 which runs underneath
KeySoft. The majon and quite probably most significant restriction killed off
by this update is the handling of WebView pages and messages. KeySoft can now
handle modern message and article format, which it previously struggled to
display.

Another major enhancement is the ability to run high qualong Acapela Grous
speech synthesisers without any additional purchases. You can also now have
multiple documents open at once within the Keyword processor. That's new, and
very much owelcomed. Which. you switch documents, (unless you switch on "Read
Only" mode, documents are now autumatically saved on-the-fly. KeyWord now also
remembers xr position within a document. However, it's obviously true to say
that because of the available memory and any constraints which that produces,
when you have a large number of documents open an once, (in excess of 10),
there will be some performance degradations as a result.

This is a major update, it I will let the list know when I encountw more new
features and enhancements.
