Its getting to that time of year in Australia, won't be long until the
Winter months arrive and we have to start thinking about keeping warm.
I have an Air conditioning system in my lounge which does the job 95% of
the time of keeping the temperature comfortable.
Unfortunately one of the problems with Air Conditioning is that it fails
to be effective when the outside temperature gets below a certain level
and this is easily explained.
An Air Conditioner works in a similar way to a refrigerator, the outside
gets hot whilst the inside gets cool thus with air conditioning the hot
air is forced out of the house whilst the cool air cools the house inside.
So come Winter when you want your air Conditioner to warm the house the
cycle is then reversed - warm air inside and cool air outside - but a
point is soon reached when - the temperature outside gets too low - that
the cool air forced outside causes the Air Conditioner to "Ice Up" thus
the Air conditioning unit stops functioning so a conventional heating
system is then required for such cold days.
Thankfully we don't have too many days below 5 degrees but when we do
have them people need to keep warm.
I'm looking at a new heating system from Dyson, this company is known
for their appliances including Vacuum cleaners and the like.
One of the appealing features of the Dyson Air Purifier fan heater is
the Smartphone App which can be used to control the device and I'm
curious to see just how accessible the App will be.
I know someone who has one so I'll be able to see the heating system in
action before I buy, I'll let the group know what I find and how I find it.
The system can be used as a circulating fan in those warmer months of
Spring and Summer.
