Hi!

I had planned to start writing a review of the Omni S6 - bigger brother of the already reviewed Omni S2 - however I've decided to delay the writing of the review as I've just been made aware of a function the S6 has, the ability to actually stream content input to the speaker with the Aux-In jack to compatible Play-Fi devices thus I'm awaiting the arrival of my Second Omni S2 to allow full testing of the streaming facility.

To put the function onto some context, suppose you have a radio and you wish to stream this to your backyard where your Omni S2 speakers are already set up for the entertainment at the lunchtime barbecue.

Obviously the radio is not a Play-Fi device so connecting the output of that radio to the Aux-in jack of the Omni S6 pretty much turns the radio into one, the input from the Aux-In can be streamed to the backyard speakers or any other Play-Fi Compatible device on your Wi-Fi network.

Regarding the Omni S2 speakers I've been asked a question privately which I'll answer publically, someone wanted to know what Wi-Fi bands the Omni series will connect to?

I'm happy to say that both 2.4 and 5.0GHZ frequency bands are supported and the manual suggests a Wirless N protocol or better for connecting.
