So I wonder what will be made of these new phones when they come on stream?
The prices are attractive and the phones will probably do most Android users but not quite what I'm looking for and some puzzling decisions have been made by Nokia in my view. The most obvious being the Wi-Fi specifications, all good Android devices to my knowledge these days use the AAC standard which is faster than N thus you can enjoy video and streaming content more easily, Nokia - even in the top model listed here - have opted not to use Wi-Fi AAC. Why the fixation with a FM radio? I never got much joy out of using FM radio from a mobile phone, for local radio stations perhaps but even then reception wasn't stellar stuff and - if we're going to bother with FM - why not DAB or DAB+? Bluetooth 4.2? The 3 models of Nokia phone have this and again I'm puzzled. Yes, if the phones had been released 2 years ago then I would have been nodding my head but this is indeed 2017 and Bluetooth 5.0 is here. 2GB of RAM I should think will do most people for most tasks, the two bottom models have this with the top model having 3GB of RAM. The two bottom models have 16GB internal storage which I don't believe to be anywhere enough so the purchase of a Micro SD card will be essential and this begs the next question, why the maximum capacity of a 128GB SD card when today's phones talk about a 256GB maximum capacity SD card? Mokia seem to think they're on a winner and - if the quality of past Nokia devices is anything to go by - then that very well may sell them a few phones, for the prices quoted you don't get all that much Premium mobile phone these days. Am I being too picky? No, I don't think so but in the end its what the market says and not what I think. http://www.techguide.com.au/news/nokia-brand-reborn-range-affordable-android-smartphones/
