Hi!

I've been a fan of the Silicon Chip electronics and technical magazine for years.

I was very excited when Silicon Chip magazine launched their online edition, I don't remember how long ago that actually was but back then I had every reason to be excited as the Silicon Chip web site and all content then was completely accessible.

So fast forward to now and I decided to take up an online subscription to the publication again as I now have more time up my sleeve to involve myself in my passion for electronics.

I took out a subscription thinking I could dive right in.

On the face of it the web site looks perfectly normal but start selecting articles and columns and you find nothing at all.

I got someone with sighted assistance to have a look at the Silicon Chip online issues and they tell me its the most graphic magazine content they've ever viewed.

I've since been in correspondence with the web publisher who have told me that the layout of the site is deliberate as it prevents people copying material from the site easily and yes, when all things considered that could be a huge problem.

My subscription includes the print edition so I'll have to use KNFB Reader to scan and process each magazine issue as I receive it.

Actually I look forward to trying KNFB reader with this magazine, in the past when I scanned and processed issues of Silicon Chip I got persistently good results, not always accurate but I was able to rectify any mistakes in column recognition etc, that was a good 14 years or so ago, OCR technology should have progressed a great deal since that time? We'll see.
