I received this today and I have to say that (Even though I've had the device for only a few hours), I'm fascinated in how the whole thing works, its clear that a whole heap of engineering talent has gone into this thing.

Even more astounding is to think such a feat could be achieved in the country of origin, The United Kingdom <smile>

I haven't worked out what all the function buttons do on the remote controller unit yet but what I have worked out is to my satisfaction.

The first thing to be said about the Dyson Hot + Cool Purifier is its absolute reliability when it comes to heating, set the temperature to 22 degrees say and that's the temperature your room will be heated to - I've tested this with an indoor thermometer.

The unit doesn't have spinning blades as a fan does so I'm damned if I know how it pumps the air about, you can actually put your head inside the arch where the air is forced out though your head may become very hot very quickly <smile>.

There are several different modes for the fan including "Focus" and "Jet" mode, I'm still to investigate what those modes do.

Even better than all that is the Dyson Link App that turns your iPhone into a complete remote controller for the unit though its a bit tricky to set up, you'll need sighted assistance to read off the Wi-Fi infor that needs to be entered into the App and sorry, no Android version available as yet.
