Good Saturday to you all!

This notice is to inform you of some events which I am anticipating for next
week. Although the event itself wil be of no interest to you, I will tell you
about it because of the knock-on effect that it wil have upon the group.

Starting on Monday morning, my bathroom is in line for a total make-over. This
wil involve a degree of electrical work, as new cabling needs to be put in
place from the isolator switch which I had fitted to my fuse-box, up the
kitchen wall, through the ceiling of my studio then under the floorboards and
into the bathroom. This is necessary because I’m having an electric shower and
extractor fan fitted which is something that my bathroom has never known until
now.

The reason for this explanation is probably quite obvious. It will require that
the power supply to the house be disconnected for extended periods of the week
during the hours of 08:30 and 16:30.

Therefore, since my UPS batterie are not designed to function for such an
extended period of time under load, it will be necessary for me to shut down
the entire server array until the day’s work is completed.

It is possible, in fact, very probable, therefore, that disruptions will occur
during the aforementioned hours. Unfortunately, thise outages are unavoidable.
The work has to be done and, therefore, the power needs to be switched off.

I shall endeavour to keep the outages as brief as possible but need you to be
aware just in case mail starts bouncing.

Between now and Monday I am going to be taking steps to try to ensure that any
mail which is destined for our servers during the times when they are not
available will be routed to a reliable and secure backup server located
off-site. So I hope we can avoid problems. I will advise the group when things
are in place.

My compliments and kindest regards
