Good Tuesday to you one and all.

This post is being sent to both Mac Access and Techno-Chat, so apologies if you
see it twice, as you will if you are a member of both groups.

As I informed you over the weekend, my bathroom facility is currently
undergoing a total refit.

Where We Are So Far:

Yesterday we had fun removing all the old stuff, (bath, overhead curtain rail,
shower, sink, shelving and mirror tiles). I had the dubious honour of removing
some of it myself, and it was great fun!

Anyway, the water supply was turned off all day yesterday, as it wil be all day
today. Today, however, the electrician is coming over to do the serious part of
the wiring. He’s prepared the isolator switch and fuse-box, so now it’s a
matter of running the cables themselves up the wall, through the kitchen
ceiling, under the floorboards and then into the bathroom. Once there, the
general labourers can get on with fitting the light, extractor fan and shower.
Those items are being delivered on a lorry (what you Americans would call a
“Truck”) in the next half hour or so.

Why am I telling you this? Pretty simple really. All the electrical and
electronic equipment in my home will need to be shut down for an indefinite
period today. Therefore, our mail servers will vanish from service.

During those times when the power is down, it is possible, even probable, that
mail sent to us will bounce. I only discovered last night that my connectivity
provider has now switched t a cloud-based solution for all customer accounts.
Sadly, this does not include a backup MX relay. So, if you get bounced, I crave
your pardon, and hope you will understand that this is a temporary situation. I
will update the groups daily as to where we are with the process that will
impact on services.

My compliments and kindest regards
