Good Friday to you one and all!

This, as they say, is De Taj, (The Day).

Earlier in the week, I informed the group that there would be some power
disruption throughout the week, caused by new wiring being installed as a part
of having my bathroom turned into a “wet room”. The vast majority of the work
is now done, and the room is like an alien landscape to me at the moment.
Although it comes with all the best fixtures and fittings, needless to say. For
what it’s costing me, it’d bloody well better!

Anyway, to get back to the point. Today is the day that the majority of the
disruption to my energy services will occur. The wiring is all in place, it now
just needs to be connected to the pain power supplies and all of the testing
needs to be done just to complete the legal niceties.

Over here in the UK, when work of this nature is undertaken, a certified
electrician and a certified gas engineer are mandatorily required to inspect
and test the new installation, in order that the energy companies can be
informed that the work has been carried out to meet our very high standards of
safety. That, as say, is scheduled to happen this morning. Then it’s just a
matter of fitting the wash basin and a couple of other fixtures and fitting,
then the work is complete.

Why am I telling you this, you may wonder. Well, fair question, as it does not
relate to list topics. I’m simply trying to ensure that those who need to know
are aware that mail will go down probably around 09:00 BST, which is 08:00 UTC.
It will be down for an indefinite period throughout the morning, but will
definitely be restored by, I would estimate, mid afternoon at the very latest.

In the meantime, I apologise for any inconvenience. Be assured that this is
essential work, and must take precedence over everything else.
