On 31 October 2017, Amazon is to launch the new Alexa-powered Echo range of devices. I think the Dot and Tap launch on the same day.
The new Echo will have vastly improved sound, as it incorporates unique woofer and tweeters which will enhance the sound when streaming high quality audio. The new speaker will have 360-º surround sound, providing a richly room-filling audio experience. The microphones in the Echo have also been enhanced, along with a faster processor and better responsiveness. But perhaps the most exciting new functionality is the ability to send messages, and make phone calls, all via your hands-free device. Speak it, and send it! I’ve pre-ordered a new Echo, so we will see.
