Hello everybody

For some time now, I have been using and becoming more familiar with the
ElBraille. I am about to start work on an extensive audio review of this
product, from a totally unbiassed perspective.

There was a demonstration of the machine on the Freedom Scientific podcast,
but it wasn't unbiassed and it certainly wasn't all that explanatory of all
functionalities.

Mine most definitely will be both of those. However, I wanted to wet the
appetite of those who it may interest just a little. As I write this message
using the ElBraille with it's integrated Focus 14 Blue's keyboard, I am
quite amazed! At this monment, ElBraille is also powering my broadcast
software, "RadioBoss Advanced", as well as handling mail and web browsing.
Speech isn't even stuttering in the slightest, and I use the high quality
Serina Vocalizer Expressive voice. Oh yes, and I almost forgot, I also have
OpenBook running doing an extensive OCR job in the background. No issues
whatsoever!

Honestly, it works at least as well as my 64-bit desktop, running at more
than twice the speed and with 16 times the amount of RAM. I honestly would
never have believed this was possible. And, to be utterly fair, under
previous versions of Windows, it wouldn't have been possible. As some list
members will no doubt recall, I have been somewhat critical of Microsoft in
the past, owing to sloppy coding and papering over the cracks. However, I
must be totally fair here. Microsoft deserves every praise for the way they
have optimised Windows 10, especially since the Anniversary and Creator's
updates.

In we've come full circle here. In fact, it is no longer necessary for the
speed demons to worry all that much about the power of their hardware.
Windows 10 does what every previous version of Windows should have done, and
yes, it does it extremely well!

The Elitech group has shown this change in all it's glory. In fact, the
ElBraille bridges the gap between the accessibility product and the main
stream. Main stream apps work seamlessly with this technology. I'm seeing
that very clearly for myself right now.

OK, off I go to do a little more tweaking of the broadcast software. Then, I
might just do the first's live Internet broadcast I've done in months!
